Happy Anniversary
Laura & Laurence have been through a rough time over the last few weeks, but hopefully their luck and Laurence's health will improve from now on.
Today is their 18th Wedding Annversary and Nina & I wish them all the very best and look forward to many more in the future. We look forward to being with them at Laurence's mother's 91st birthday party at the weekend.

HIGH BEACH
On a dull, cold late-summer morning, six intrepid members of the EFU3A Photographic Group set out for High Beach to photograph Epping Forest in its final throes of summer. Oh for some sun! The contrasts we hankered for were not there, but we made the most of it.

BURGHLEY HOUSE
Yet another of those trips to a Stately Home. This time Burghley House near Stamford in Lincolnshire, the home of the Marquis of Exeter. The 6th Marquis was Lord Burghley, Gold Medal winner of the 400m hurdles in the Amsterdam Olympics in 1928. The link to the website above will tell you more about the house than I ever can. All I can say is that I have never seen so many paintings in one house.

After the visit to the house we went into Stamford, which is a beautiful old town which certainly benefited from the construction of the A1 bypassing it. By clicking on the link you will find better pictures than those taken by me today!
